A state valuation of 425 million dollars triggers efforts to salvage houses abandoned by the US. The plan outlines management of the seized properties and disposal of salvaged assets, targeting rapid re-use and reduction of blight.
Wyoming's assessed valuation is expected near 320 million this year and about 425 million in 1920. Captain M C June and Maurice Groshon of the state board of equalization say counties have been urged to adopt a uniform assessment basis after meetings with most county boards. Last year's valuation stood at 298,546,284. The board states that property this year will be assessed on two thirds of its actual cash value.
The Marblehead relief expedition reports Bristol Bay Alaska faced near total extinction from influenza with about 90 percent of 900 residents dead. Immune yet starving children and babies died as bands of dogs preyed on the corpses. The ship set out June 4 with doctors nurses and supplies.
