Woman Battles Coyotes Near Her Home in Durango

Durango Colorado July 9 Mrs Jo seph Brandenberg 66 wife of a Florida Mesa ranchman is badly injured with deep lacerations to hands and limbs after a fierce battle with a full grown male and female coyote near her home. She followed a stream to a pile of coyote pups trying to drag ducklings from irrigation water and attacked with a shovel bringing the mother to the scene. The female coyote was killed by a crushed skull and the male and pups escaped.
