In Bachimba canyon near Chihuahua a six hour tug of war pitted about 5000 rebels against 5000 federals. Both sides gained little and nightfall suggested a decision would take days. Federal artillery, aided by heavy reinforcements, pounded the rebel lines as rail lines were repaired to bring in guns.

Rich asbestos deposits found on school lands near Casper

Application by John D. Allen of Casper and associates seeks lease on section 16 township 32 range 70 for rich asbestos deposits. They plan to invest about 56000 in development and post a bond. Maps show an 8000 ton mill, mine to mill setup, and a five mile electric rail to Casper. Previous leases yield about 50 cents per ton. revenue could approach 3000 monthly in royalities. Also linked to Natrona county figures and the Salt Creek oil fields, with plans to manufacture roofing material blending asbestos with Casper oil products.
