Washington July 8 The senate adopted thirty six of eighty tariff provisions before adjourning amid debate over retaliatory measures. The act would take effect March 31 1910 with a ninety day grace period before maximum duties apply. Tea and coffee duties were stricken out in an amended report. The senate also agreed to vote on the income tax constitutional amendment submission to the states.
