Colorado School of Mines Adopts Compulsory Military Training
Beginning next September compulsory military training will be enforced at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. An officer of the regular army will be stationed as instructor and every physically fit student must enroll. The policy aims at patriotism and physical development, per Dr. Victor C. Alderson, president, at a board meeting.

Salt Lake City July 1. Boy Scouts of Salt Lake City will march through Emigration canyon on July 23 for a two day hike commemorating the Pioneer entry into the valley on July 24 1847. About 300 Scouts have registered for the trip arranged by Dr John H Taylor director of the Boy Scouts of Utah. The annual trek is a tradition for descendants of Mormon pioneers who helped blaze paths to the valley. The boys will carry outfits and cook their own meals during the excursion.
