Albert R. Carroll, the tramp who killed Conductor Cicero illed and Brakeman Otto B. Jones on a Union Pacific train near Kimball Nebraska, has appealed to the LW W for assistance. He pleaded not guilty and sought to control his defense. he requests his own lawyer and objected to court appointed counsel. Carroll wrote letters to LW W leaders in Minneapolis Chicago and Sioux City seeking help. He says he will fight for his life on the basis of self defense. McCune, a youth with Carroll, is held as a witness in Sidney Nebraska and will not be prosecuted.
