Los Angeles January 23 Lincoln Beachey thrilled spectators by a dramatic joke in the gulley where Arch Hoxie died a year ago then swooped over the grandstand as doctors searched foothills for a possible fatal crash. The day featured races altitude flights and trick flying with Parmalee winning the figure eight in 1:62 and reaching 7600 feet. Farnum Fish carried passengers while Hillery Beachey won the five mile handicap and Beachey the five mile free for all with Hoff Martin following. No serious accidents occurred.
George Oliver of the Oliver and Ott real estate firm and promoter of North Cheyenne Improvement Company has vanished from Cheyenne. Associates say he may be in San Diego, California. His firm's books are in bad shape with serious irregularities in deeds, note sales, and rent collections under investigation. Julius Otis, his partner, claims no involvement and will cooperate to straighten matters as investigators seek Oliver and his associate.
James A. Farrell of United States Steel told a Stanley Steel Trust committee that Steel and International Harvester have had no business dealings for five or six years. He said Harvester has boycotted Steel and denied interlocking directors or rebates in any relationship. The statement came as Congress prepared to probe Harvester.

Republican fund drew 12,330 donors. Taft brother headed a $110,000 contribution and urged inquiry.
