David Graham Phillips, editor and novelist, was shot six times by Fitzhugh Coyle Goldsborough at the Princeton Club New York and then fatally shot himself. Phillips, 43, survived initial injuries and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. Goldsborough, 81, died by suicide after the attack following an apparent grievance.
