Negro gunman caught after auto flight near Cheyenne

Ed Veel wanted in Colorado for an alleged plan to kill his brother in law John Thomas of Eaton. He was arrested nine miles south of Cheyenne by Sheriff Pat Hayes and Sergeant Mc Farland while speeding toward Cheyenne. Irwin King drove Veel, paid ten dollars for the trip. King claimed Veel shot Thomas during a clash with Veel’s wife, sister to Thomas. Veel faces charges as both men worked at Eaton sugar factory. Thomas injured with gunfire but not believed fatally.

Wyoming Electors Name Jordan To Carry Wilson Votes

John L. Jordan of Cheyenne was elected by Wyoming’s presidential electors to carry the state’s three electoral votes for Woodrow Wilson and Thomas R. Marshall.
