British liner Persia sunk with heavy loss near Crete

The British liner Persia was torpedoed and sunk off Crete on Thursday afternoon with most passengers and crew lost. American consul at Aden Robert McNesley and Denver student Edward Rowe were aboard. Charles Grant from Boston also listed. About 1640 passengers were aboard after port disembarkations. no official casualty figures yet.
