Relief measures for New England coal shortage announced

The fuel administration, navy department, shipping board and railroads director general acted to ease a coal shortage in New England. Nine steamers were ordered to Hampton Roads for coal, idle navy tugs and colliers will assist transport, 1500 coal cars on Pennsylvania tracks will move to New England, and a zoned distribution plan for coal regions was outlined.
