Paris reports describe seven German battalions attacking the French front in Bois Givenchy. They pushed past the first line trench, with heavy losses on both sides, before French counterattacks recaptured ground and repelled the assault last night.
Paris reports the entire crew, twenty two men, of a Zeppelindowned airship killed after a French automobile-mounted cannon opened fire near Ravigny. The second Zeppelin avoided destruction as observers fled, with flames engulfing the craft and the envelope tearing away.
William H Orpet remains in custody after a coroner jury ruled Marian Lambert died from potassium poisoning. The inquest found circumstantial evidence and recommended grand jury action. Orpet, confident of innocence, plans to plead not guilty and waives further exam, with a preliminary hearing set before Magistrate Lale Forent. His defense notes Lambert removed a glove at her death scene to take poison.
