Kansas City, Feb 17 Edward Dale, shot by Mrs Meda Ufford, survives with the bullet entering the chest near the heart but piercing the left lung due to his anatomy. Doctors say he has a chance of recovery. Mrs Ufford and her husband are both held.
New York police search for a tramp who, angered by being refused alms, threw a brick through the window at Miss Helen Gouldip’s residence and struck Mrs Edward Scholes on the head. She escaped serious injury thanks to an abundance of caution.

Pittsburg Pa Feb 17 The big graft prosecution in Pittsburg history is believed impending after the executive committee reports to the Voters' league an investigation of the public school system showing corruption surpassing the city council indictment of over 100 members last year. The graft touches all school operations from buildings to teachers and juniors.

Kats cited being called vile names while unable to reach the instigator across the wire. The incident led to assault or battery charges tied to a company operator Karl Hughes.
Charles Penasa aged 44 a lifelong resident of Calo county was killed near Central City while loading buckets at the Hughes mine. Investigators believe a pick struck dynamite causing the fatal blast.

A prisoner Cass Lee Long accused of intoxication was whipped at an improvised post by Police Magistrate Menefee of Stanford. The judge acted as prosecutor and crowd cheered as the horsewhip was applied, transferring the court to the whipping post this morning.
Danville February 17 officials said the appropriation to pay grand jurors investigating vote buying is nearly exhausted with funds only for two more days. Jurors offered to serve without pay while Judge Kimbrough ensured warrants remain valid if county officials honor them.
