Assassination Attempt on Hulett Bank Cashier and Editor
In Gillette Wyoming on February 11 a would be gunman fired from a 22 high power rifle at M. F. Leslie cashier of the Hulett State Bank and Tom Caverly editor of the Wyoming Blade as they sat in the bank. The shot narrowly missed both men who are prominent Crook county figures active in Democratic politics. The attack follows prior political clashes including an assault on editor Gunderson. Citizens have offered a $500 reward for the capture and conviction of the attacker.
