Albany feb 4 testimony in the assembly disloyalty case against Charles Solomon claims he predicted the 4,000,000 ex service men would not stop a socialist revolution. Brooklyn attorney William Hart testified Solomon allegedly said ex soldiers would back a revolution and urged action. Solomons reply warned of a vast revolution and wrath of the working class. The committee denied striking out Ellen Chivers testimony that Solomon spat on the American flag.
Attorney General Palmer urged a simple anti sedition bill to fill gaps in current laws. He defended free speech and criticized measures he said over reach their purpose, warning that sweeping repression would cause more harm than good.
Thirty eight Japanese religious business and social organizations met in Honolulu under Shinto priest C Saski to form a Strike Supporter Association. The group aims to provide financial and moral support to Japanese workers on strike against sugar planters.
Chicago February 4. The murder of Maurice Moss Enright a noted labor feudist and the last of four gunmen slain in the city in ten years remains unsolved tonight. More than 40 suspects were arrested but most were released as police probe continues. Enright was a prominent labor leader who paid with his life amid ongoing Chicago labor wars.
