In Shoshoni Wyoming on February 1 Sheriff W S Burch and assistants including two federal agents raided pool halls disorderly houses and soft drink parlors arresting 86 people and seizing multiple trucks of equipment liquor and gambling devices Five women were told to leave town or accompany the sheriff to Lander and all raids were conducted simultaneously as doors were locked and suspects detained.

Grand Jury Probes 1919 World Series Indictments In Chicago

Chicago, Feb 1. State's Attorney Robert E Crowe reports a grand jury investigation into claims that indictments against eight Chicago players in the 1919 World Series were to be pigeonholed and the men not tried. Witnesses include Maclay Hoyne and Hartley Repologle. Crowe says trials will proceed quickly.
