Juarez garrison seized the city within a half hour as mutinous troops took control at 6:30 PM. Two Americans wounded in a gambling-house shooting. looting and gunfire continued at midnight. U S forces, police and prisoners affected. civilians fled to El Paso. a Mexican train was seized by rebels.
A Chihuahua newspaper report claims General Orozo, a Madero era leader, resigned his military post to move to Chihuahua and to be discharged this afternoon, triggering unrest and speculation about the rebellion.
Indianapolis Indiana January 31 Through evidence given by Patrick Royle of Kansas City today it is believed the government obtained information about stores of explosives hidden by McNamara s dynamiting crew which never have been found. Boyle told about recently finding dynamite in a spot described by McManigal a confessed dynamiter. Government officials believe many other stores of explosives which McManigal knew about may yet be found. Secretary Morrison of the Federation of Labor is expected to be the chief witness tomorrow.
