Mother Slain by Girl Ends in Tragedy at Home

Denver report says Mrs. Jo seph Friedenreich age 45 was shot dead by her daughter Miss Rosie Friedenreich age 20 during a domestic incident at 1331 Grove street. The daughter claimed it was an accident during playing movies and pretending to handle a loaded small caliber revolver. The victim was the wife of A. H. Friedenreich a local tailor.

Officer and Man Slain in Holdup in Joplin

JOPLIN Mo Dec 8 William Woosley city detective and an unidentified man were killed after a pistol duel during a holdup attempt. A witness saw Woosley draw his revolver when ordered to surrender and the gunman shot him in the breast as he fired twice before dying.

Yaquis Torture and Murder 9 Aliens Near Guaymas Raid

Five Americans one German and three Chinese were tortured and shot by Yaqui Indians during a raid on Esperanza, seventy miles south of Guaymas, Sonora. Forty Germans on Patience south of Reperanse were unaccounted for, according to an American mail man.

Auto Wreck Near Lake Minnehaha Injures Two

Blinded by heavy snow an automobile carrying three men was struck by a switch engine near the Y at the southeast side of Lake Minnehaha at 11 last night. Injured are Joe Plouth with a dislocated shoulder and facial cuts and Alec McGinnis with facial cuts. York Jones escaped unharmed and all three were employed on the Hereford ranch east of Cheyenne. They were taken to St. John's hospital and are reported resting easily. The engine had returned light after moving the train over the Y.

The German submarine sank the American destroyer Jacob Jones off the war zone on Thursday night. Vicw Admiral Sims reported survivors including David W.
