French Airmen Bomb German Munitions Factory in Great Raid

Paris Aug 26 sixty two aviators bombarded Dillingen Bavaria German munitions works in the greatest air raid of the war flying from a Vosges region camp and returning after more than 150 miles. They dropped 150 bombs including 30 large calibre ones. Also reported was a raid on Offenburg railway station with undetailed results.

Wood Called For Barring Criticism at Camps

Secretary of War Garrison telegraphed Major Wood upbraiding him for permitting Colonel Roosevelt to criticize national defenses and Wilson policy. The speech was at the citizen soldiers camp in Pittsburg New York. Roosevelt said he was responsible for the remarks and accused Garrison of criticizing General Wood.

Motorcyclist Crashes into City Tram. Injuries Not Serious

Ray F. Hubbard a mail carrier collided with a Judge J. M. Carey team on Capitol Avenue. Hubbard escaped serious injuries though a wheel ran over his leg and the wagon was badly damaged. Harrowly avoided being trampled by the horses. No serious harm expected.

U S Troops Fired On by Mexicans Near Rio Grande

U S troops were fired on by Mexicans at the Rio Grande near Santa Maria for two hours last night with several cavalrymen wounded. Americans returned fire as Carrancista units now in Matamoras strengthen river defenses to stop incursions. Three bands totalling about 160 Mexicans crossed the river near Rio Grande City this morning and were pursued by soldiers and rebels.
