Wealthy Sheep Owner Slain Near Rock Springs Wyoming

Lander Johnson a wealthy sheep owner in the Elkhorn district was shot and killed at a sheep camp about sixty miles north of Rock Springs. McKinley, a former herder for Johnson and Yates, allegedly killed him to gain unpaid wages. Johnson’s body was brought to Rock Springs as authorities pursued clues and searched for the suspect.

Human spider clings to bank portico as stone crumbles

Bill Srother of Ore known as a human spider climbs Citizens Bank building last night. A corner stone gave way as he reached the portico top causing a 15 foot fall to the sidewalk. He and a boy on the walk escaped injury due to his presence of mind. Continued on page five.

Mrs Archie B. Calvin of 1019 West Sowea Street gave $1.00 as a starter for a Salvation Army home service drive to purchase an automobile for Captain Holbrook to assist in taking invalids to meetings and provides fresh air and sunshine. The matter was referred to Salvation Army headquarters at 607 8 Hynds Building for proper consideration.

Search Continues for Yankee Airmen Lost in Mexico

An American air and ground search, aided by Mexican troops, extended 150 miles from the border for Lieutenants B. Waterhouse and C. I. Connelly who vanished after departing Yuma, Arizona, en route to Rockwell Field. Weather rugged terrain hindered recovery efforts as Rockwell pilots covered the Pacific side and Mexican patrols the eastern side. Waterhouse lived in Weiser Idaho and Connelly in San Diego with his mother.
