Submarine ordeal ends as crew reaches third schooner

Captain James A. Nickerson and five crewmen from the Reliance survived two submarine attacks by a German raider off George's banks. After the Reliance sank, they escaped in a dory, were picked up by the Kate Palmer, which was sunk, and finally rescued by a third schooner Monday morning.
