Haverly Mass August 15 The president is concerned over the Japanese Chinese issue and has summoned diplomats to discuss it. Charles R Crane will visit from Chicago as minister to China. Russia fears Japan may use Port Arthur adjacent base and railway reconstruction to threaten treaties and balance of power in the Far East.
Perk Rapax Minnesota Aug 13. F Busey of Urbana and his daughter Anna McClain were drowned at Man Trap Jake while fishing. Their pole and lines were missing and later recovered in reeds at the lake’s far end. The boat capsized scattering tragically.
The mother of Lieutenant Sutton announced plans to exhume her son’s body at Arlington to confirm injuries. lawyers debated whether the death resulted from a mission to conceal a crime or a suicide. Mrs. Sutton said the Navy’s findings must be checked and she would pursue the case further.

Harry Thaw will go back to Mattewan Wednesday August 18.
