Three prominent members of Tulsa society circles were seriously wounded in a shooting affray at a fashionable club. Police investigations begin as witnesses describe a sudden gunfire in the social venue downtown.
Widespread rumors claim three men were wounded in a night shooting at the Tanaha clubhouse six miles east of Tiga. More than twenty prominent Tulsa and Sapulpa women allegedly intoxicated were at the resort as officers raided the club and seized whisky and champagne.
General Leonard Wood orders two battalions from the 28th Infantry and a pack train from Fort Russell to meet at Missoula to fight devastating forest fires along the Great Northern and Northern Pacific lines. Mullen's campaign managers push promises to saloon interests while anti saloon backers are assured he would sign county option prohibition if he becomes governor. He addressed the Civic league in Sheridan asserting support for prohibition measures and county option.
Prienda hero of Judge M Sau Mey, once an associate justice of the Wyoming supreme court, died suddenly at his Stanford Kentucky home while working in his stable. He served as associate justice under President Cleveland and was mentioned as a possible Democratic candidate this fall. He was 68.
