10 Are Slain in Battle on Border with Night Raiders

Brownsville Texas reports on a wave of raids by Mexican bandits across the Rio Grande valley. Ten soldiers and civilians are killed in battles yesterday and last night, bringing total deaths to about twenty since raids began. Mexican bandits attacked Palm Gardens near Mercedes and a guard was killed. wires cut and troops moved to Palm Gardens. At Sebastian Texas two bandits were killed by Texas Rangers. Raiders fired on soldiers at Armstrong and attacked a ranch house in Norias with no casualties. Jails fill with suspects linked to raids as border tensions rise. Navy ships New Hampshire and Lousiana possibly bound for Vera Cruz amid plans affecting Mexican waters.
