Cheyenne Burglar Costello Shot by Police After Attempted Entry
The man believed responsible for numerous Cheyenne burglaries, Jesus Costello an interpreter and landscape gardener, was fatally shot by Night Sergeant McFarland when found trying to break into R G Graham’s home at 411 West Twenty first street. Costello died at St Johns hospital about an hour later. Police linked him to at least one earlier break in at 161 Seymour street, noting items taken. Costello had worked as a special officer during Frontier week and had a history of threats and unsettled conduct. He died after refusing to speak further while hospitalized. investigators plan to search his lodging for stolen goods to connect him to the burglaries.
