A cabinet sub-committee under Attorney General Palmer announced immediate measures to prevent rises in wheat prices thanks to a government guarantee. Two garrotted men found near Brawley store

In California near Brawley, William Bailey and James Mollhany were found garrotted with their own belts in a field north of Bailey's store after a robbery. Bailey's dog stood guard over the bodies as neighbors recall the men were in the store at 9 o'clock last night. Officers believe two assailants entered, robbed the store, and killed the victims, with four entering footprints and two leaving.
