The naval consulting board's industrial preparedness committee announced 250 prominent engineers will organize state boards to inventory U S manufacturing and producing resources for potential war use. Five engineering societies pledged 30 000 members to aid as state directors serve without pay and form a non partisan consulting board led by Thomas Edison.
