Gov F L Hoax appoints seven prominent citizens to form a Wyoming branch of the national defense council. The move marks an early step in mobilizing state resources for defense efforts this year.
Local meat markets report Greeks in the city are buying large lamb quantities for Easter Sunday April 14. Mandania store notes seventy five lambs ordered and delivered for that day. An Easter roast features a lamb skewered and roasted over charcoal at the Greek church.
A noon dinner at the Hertford ranch hosted 108 to 150 Wyoming stockmen and western market leaders. Robert D. Carey was reelected president and Miss Alice Smith secretary. SHANGHAI April 13 The Chinese Officer commanding here received orders to intern all United States war ships in Chinteo waters. China does not intend to follow the lead of the United States in declaring war.

A government announcement says the Argentine sailing ship Monte Protegido was sunk off the European coast by a German submarine after gunfire. One crew member wounded. crowds protest, calling German actions assassins.
British forces push twelve mile front from the Scarpe to Loos gaining a footing in German trenches north east of Lens. They seize Ball Leul Willeval Vimy Petit Chyen Core and Angres and take numerous prisoners and guns. Over 13 000 prisoners and 166 guns captured since the offensive began last Monday.
