Washington reports the United States finds the German note denying submarine attacks insufficient to clear the grave situation. Evidence points to illegal submarine operations and the government expects Ambassador Gerard to receive a disclaimer tomorrow.
Resto Yellich, brought from Green River, was bound over to district court on a first degree murder charge in the death of Andrew Bondura at Reliance. He was returned to the county jail after hearings and was fined at Green River.
In Naco, Ariz, the Southern Pacific machine shops roundhouse three engines and two coaches were destroyed by fire. The loss is estimated at 300,000 and the shops and roundhouse will not be rebuilt. The incident occurred today near Naco Sonora.
Wichita dispatch reports T M Potter of Warwich Kansas shot and killed his wife after she took the children for a walk on Sunday. In St Louis Missouri Charles Z Trembley president of the Real Estate Exchange shot himself in the head at his home and is near death in a hospital.
The Kansas City report details a massive Wild West exposition planned in New York City from August 5 to 14 modeled on Cheyenne Frontier Days. Charley Irwin will assemble five carloads of top western riders and the attraction offers about $50,000 in prizes with vaqueros competing. If the European war ends, the show may tour Europe.
Cheyenne public schools prepare two exhibition days to showcase class work.
