Cleveland April 1 The New York Central wreck at Amherst Wednesday left twenty eight dead and forty injured. D C Moon general manager accuses Herman Hoss, engineer of the second section of train No 86, of causing the crash by running at fifty miles an hour in dense fog.
Clarence Hudson alias Ernest Schiller was jailed on a charge of attempting to place dynamite on the Cunard liner Pannonia. He reportedly planned to blow up the ship the night of March 30 after seizing the Matoppo, and claimed a British cruiser might have been rammed if within range. Washington reports Germany has told Ambassador Gerard it has no official information about the explosion that damaged the British steamer Sussex and sank the British ship Englishman, both carrying Americans. Fire at the Texas Oil company plant in Middleton New York caused spectacular explosions early today. Investigators work to determine the cause of the fire and explosions.

Seven foreigners including five Americans are said killed by Villa’s troops with others missing. bodies burned. survivor J H Locke describes Villa’s capture of Minaca and Guerrero and intent to kill all gringos. Pershing’s forces push toward end of Villa isolation with several clashes and captives reported. Villa’s location remains unknown amid conflicting rumors.
Washington believes Colonel Dodd is close to catching Villa after scattering his band at Guerrero. Officials expect further dispatches on the pursuit and await word from Carranza to begin shipments of supplies over the Mexican Northwest railroad.
