Two Miners Involved in Fatal Beebe Shooting Near Black Hawk

Two Canadian Frenchmen from Black Hawk lodged at Missouri House during the Fair. After supper they walked along Cherry Creek where St. George drew a pistol and fired three times, wounding Beebe in the neck face and side. Beebe dragged the assailant, a fourth shot discharged accidentally, St. George fled. Beebe, hospitalized, carried two hundred dollars on his person. Police pursue the suspect.
