The Argus recalls a large crowd and bonfire for Nuckolla's nomination on Saturday night. Democrats burn oil barrels in a fire of enthusiasm that misses the mark as Corlett surges with broad popular support to sweep the Territory, while Nuckolls remains a mere business figure with little rallying power.
The Cheyenne precinct Republicans meet at the U S Court House this evening to select delegates to the upcoming convention. Nineteen delegates are allocated to Cheyenne, two to Fort Laramie, and two to Pine Brush. The convention will nominate three for the Legislative Council and four for the House, then elect a county central committee for the year. Turn out in strong force and vote with care given the offices at stake.
