Destructive Montana Fire Destroys Town Blocks

A blaze starting in Chinatown, Helena destroyed ninety eight business houses and about forty dwellings across three blocks along Main Street and adjacent streets. One man died in a drunken altercation during the disaster. Funds and property losses exceed a half million as rails, telegraph offices, and multiple firms are left in ruins.
