Reading Railway lends locomotives to B and O to move east coal. Seventeen Ka sawha mines resume with nine hour days and pay concessions. In Alabama 900 miners strike at Brookton raising total idle miners to forty thousand.
At Camp Root the army maneuver ends with an attack and defense where Major Leech led the defense against General Kobee's force, cavalry urged a sally, and Kansas troops began leaving. General Huyes notes gains from the regular soldiers. Joseph Sanger named Philippine Census Director in Washington with twelve appointments pending.
Bert Feenan confessed to Chief Leyden that Florence Thurman lured him to rob G. D. Mason of St. Joseph, Missouri, of 60 dollars on September 18 in a Denver rooming house. Thurman, who was convicted of the same theft, testified she obeyed Feenan after he threatened to leave her.
Omaha reports the authority who predicted the merger states the combine is complete with RE A. Cudahy as president and that a formal announcement will wait until after the coming election.
Washington report indicates another operation might be needed for President Roosevelt, but surgeons Rixey and O Reilly visited the White House at 10 o'clock and after examination stated that no further operation is necessary and that the president is steadily improving.

The opening session began at 2 p.m. at the Antler's hotel.
Cheyenne party heads to Denver tomorrow 6:50 train for a festival with a two day program. Highlights include a stockmen and cowboys parade, broncho busting contests at Broadway baseball park, football game under electric lights, and Cowboy camp life events with audience participation and a mask ball on Sixteenth Street and Broadway.
Mrs lL Maley and family leave for Hanna to reside while Mrs J F Crowley returns from an eastern trip. Several others embark for Denver Colorado Springs Omaha North Platte and Salt Lake with visits planned to New York Eureka and the Pacific coast.
New York October 6. The Professional Woman's league exhibition opens tonight at Madison Square Garden. Women will serve as police, carriage callers, ticket punchers, ashore, and newsboys selling women's papers while running the entertainment without male aid. Nearly 40 000 women expected to participate.
Adlapateh reports eight elephants from a circus rampaged through Ritiken on October 6 causing a stampede that killed twenty eight people and wounded sixty one others. Many injured while trying to flee the chaos.
