At sea near Nantucket a great wave swept Mrs H O’Neil from her husband H O’Neil of Ann Arbor Michigan as the ship Bengenland from Antwerp passed by. The sea ran high and she was drowned, leaving her husband driven to despair and nearly taking his own life.
Nearly seven hundred switchmen walked out in Pittsburg in line with a strike order from last night. The wage demand is a two cent per hour increase, raising pay to about twenty nine cents. About 175 Pinkertons are mobilized by the Baltimore and Ohio yards, with calls for additional guards in the city.
Genoa November 26 The American consul to Italy James Fletcher died suddenly this morning. He was popular with the government and visiting Americans.
Rochester reports last week's Atlantic storm moved into northern and western New York as a blizzard. Snow drifts are enormous and railroad traffic is greatly delayed or suspended.
In Council Bluffs on November 26 Congressman Smith Mr Thomas and C J Hughes of Denver argued for Doyle contending fraud and Burny lacks equity standing. They sought dismissal of the case and adjournment followed Thanksgiving with the jury excused until Monday.
In Denver last night masked robbers entered the home of German couple Fredrich Fitch and his wife. They bound gagged the old man and forced the wife to reveal a mattress stash containing ten years of savings worth 250 dollars. Police hunt the robbers with no prospect of capture.

A catastrophic explosion at the Penberthy Injector company double plant in Detroit injured many and caused extensive fires. By afternoon at least fifteen deaths were confirmed with over two hundred workers present. emergency teams evacuated thirty six men and two women, with many more seriously hurt. The blast wrecked boilers, spread flames, and the city faced a mounting death toll as names emerged and the loss estimate rose beyond two hundred thousand dollars.
Webb City men Robert Boatright B E Ellis R B Gillette A P Stewart and G O Stansberry charged in federal grand jury with promoting a time honored fake foot race scam. They allegedly formed an athletic club that profited about 200000 in eighteen months, with Gillette and Stansberry allegedly paid by others. Winnings last week reached 27200 as bets backed by public wagers. Boatright served as treasurer and stake holder. Extradition bids will be fought while warrants issued for the defendants. Also a turkey raffle held at the Dyer hotel bar tonight amid local notices.
Washington reports from the Isthmus show the United States in practical control and likely to prevent property destruction as naval dispatches arrive. The gunboat Machias reports the Colombian gunboat General Pizon departed for the east, presumed to seek more troops at Cartagena. London commentary suggests the United States should direct affairs on the Isthmus and cooperate with Britain to preserve the open door.
Berlin reports the Kaiser praised naval recruits, urging unity and shared duty. He warned against thinking only the emperor commands, stressing he has taken the soldiers oath and must perform his duty alongside them.
New York November 26 A narrow escape from loss of life occurred this morning in a Greenwich street tenement. At about 3 o clock the building was found on fire and thirty two inmates were driven into the street. Fire started in three places with greased cloth and oily wood. Abraham Pleaser was arrested charged with arson. circumstances indicate a plan to burn all occupants.

Two football games are scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. the Thirteenth Artillery team leaves Thursday morning for Fort Collins to play Agricultural College, while another Agricultural College team faces the C A C team at Boulevard Park. Both contests will draw strong crowds as the two college squads clash on two fields simultaneously. In Fort Collins the artillery unit faces a hostile town ready to cheer its opponents.
