Robert Mather of the Rock Island system in Prescott argues for a uniform federal regulation of railroads. He says such national rules would help both railroads and the public, and that local legeslation variability endangers honest companies through rash public reactions to misconduct discoveries.
Last evening at 8 o'clock Cheyennese sought amusement in Wyoming as the weather was ideal. An embryo blizzard then began, with Jack Frost evident in a bitter cold wind and snow flurries. By 8 this morning the storm continued with no sign of abatement.
VaiL Kline a business man was fatally shot Wednesday night at the Nevada Goldfield reduction works while stealing amalgam and died today without regaining consciousness. Dipple, his accomplice, allegedly confessed naming two men who robbed the Gardner mill two weeks earlier and said neither Kline nor the other man had any involvement.

Bert Kinney reports losing a $200 diamond ring at a Cheyenne saloon at 5 30. The Cheyenne Detective Bureau led by Loysen traced two men who were observed picking up the item and discussing disposal. They recovered the ring andKinney regained possession within hours.
The Rathdrum Idaho murder trial of Steve Adams proceeded with testimony from Archie Richards who described the chain of evidence and the discovery of the skull. Deputy Sheriff C H Williams testified about searching the mountains and identifying the location where the body was found.
A powerful hurricane swept across Murncities and nearby coastal areas, causing widespread destruction. Heavy rainfall and flooding damaged docks and property, plunging parts of the region into darkness. Fatalities were reported due to structural collapses and accidents amid the ruin.

G. F. Tracey charged with selling Miquel to Indians was brought from Lander to the Laramie county jail yesterday after months in custody. His case will be presented to the United States grand jury meeting Tuesday as Deputy U S Marshal L. and others transport him to Cheyenne.
Denry Grinvair and his four children perished when a fire swept their New Ulm home. Grinvair, a well known resident, was reportedly absent as his wife had gone out, leaving the door locked and the house ablaze with all occupants trapped and burned.
Sullivan, ciperingendent of the Cheyenne shops of the Uglon Pacific, has been appointed master machinist of the new Utah division. He will leave about the 18th for Ogden, where the headquarters will be.
In Lexington Kentucky Onleb Powers faces his fourth trial starting Monday charged with alleged complicity in the big White River conspiracy case. Court sessions will continue at Georgetown where proceedings proceed with the same charges and questions as earlier hearings.
