New York November 9 reports say changes in Kansas City Southern board via a voting trust occurred without securities transfer. Harriman Kuhn Loeb Co and James Stillman Goulds own a large stake. Harriman offers to buy out smaller syndicate partners at 45 for preferred stock and 70 for bonds to realize value. Securities amount to 2 to 3 million dollars amid possible links to Southern Pacific traffic. Future KC Southern prospects seen tied to Missouri Pacific and Chicago and Alton.
A terrifying rail accident near Frankfort on the Main this morning caused a gas reservoir explosion that ignited wreckage. Seven people were burned to death and four were injured in the disaster.
