In Greley Colorado two children of Henry Bernes aged about four months and two years died in a fire that destroyed their home while the parents worked in a beet field. A four year old was left in charge and lit shavings touching bedding and furniture. Neighbors aided rescue but the house burned to ashes. The mother, overcome with grief, may not recover. The coroner will not hold an inquest.
A married man is accused of neglect for allowing family members to use anything except Foley's Honey and Tar for coughs and lung troubles. The ad insists Foley's contains no opiates and comes in a yellow package, credited to A. B. Rodel.
Mrs Jennie Miner Smith accuses her husband John Henry Dale Smith of murder in western Nebraska to steal eight dollars. She says the pair traveled from Youngstown to Greeley and Denver where he later fled. authorities follow leads in Wyoming Nebraska and New York.

Legislature remains Democratic, signaling a Democratic successor to Senator Hemenway. John W. Kern is mentioned.
