Washington May 12 The president is considering appointing Senator MéeLaurin of South Carolina to the court of claims to fill the vacancy left by the late Judge Davia. The salary would be 5000 dollars annually and the term would expire in March.
World special dispatch from Muskogee I T reports five Negroes wounded by whites in a race war near Bragg Saturday night. The story says two whites were stabbed after a Negro was whipped for stealing hogs.
