New York May 9 The funeral of Archbishop Corrigan drew nearly a thousand priests and dignitaries and thousands of laypeople. Masses were held across the city and along the Atlantic coast as crowds gathered on Fifth Avenue hoping to glimpse the cathedral ceremony. At noon the body lay in state until nine then was placed in the crypt with Cardinal Gibbons presiding and Archbishop Ryan delivering the eulogy.
