It records the Manhattan savings bank reopening after a $300,000 fraud, Sherman family deaths, and Pusey Beaconsfield clashes, with warnings about Texas lawlessness and outlaws.
In New York on March 12 O Leary quit the 210th mile of the pedestrian contest after a rapid decline in health. Rowell Harriman and Ennis led the standings at various points as crowds panic at Gilmore’s Garden when a temporary gallery section collapses injuring about twenty, one fatally.
The body of tele graph operator David Smith, missing from Pebenary three years ago, has been found in an abandoned mine at Bileaville Ulster county. Smith, aged 22, disappeared after trouble with neighbor Joseph Fletcher. Rumors of murder surround the case as investigators probe the mine crime scene.
A man became insane and often visited an old mine saying there goes there goes while pointing to the shaft. He was confined at Willard asylum in Ovid New York where he died. Remorse was blamed for the insanity.

In Douglas County Missouri Sheriff H I Vickery led a posse to arrest Shott Alsup last Saturday. Alsup fired on the officers wounding the sheriff who died. Alsup and his five year old daughter were killed by the posse, two others wounded. The child's death was accidental.
Illinois police guard recounts a killing in Rock Island as Officer Joseph Rosenfield is attacked on patrol at two AM by four desperadoes named Mike Henry Pat Henry Bill Murray and Mike Burns. His body is found with boot and club wounds. Three suspects are in custody.
Norwich March 12 Mrs John Taylor and her two sons Willie 10 and Johnnie 5 were drowned today in the Niantic ice company pond at Niantic. The children went for a pail of water and fell in. Mrs Taylor, hearing their cries, raced against them and also drowned.
An ice gorge four miles west of Lock Haven broke at 10 last night and swept toward the Queen Run railroad bridge which stood firm. Floodwaters rose four feet and carried ice along the city front. Boom pliers nearby may be damaged. Queen Kin and Parrauda ville report heavy damage.
In Atlanta a coroner jury returned a verdict that Alston was killed by Cox with willful and premeditated intent. Cox failed to await trial as the crowd of about ten thousand gathered to witness a wrestling event near Howton on Weekes Street. McLaughlin and John McMahon were champions for a 600 prize, with the match ending in a draw after the third bout.
Szegedin suffers a catastrophic flood after the river breaches embankments and railway works. Over 80,000 people displaced, hundreds feared drowned, with entire neighborhoods submerged and gas and supplies cut off. Officials report dramatic rescue efforts and ongoing evacuations as water rises.
