Indianapolis March 4 Roy Ellis a 10 year old newsboy was discharged after surgery to remove a chip of skull healing remarkable. Previously labeled criminally insane the boy had been detained often behind a barn but after trephination his criminal tendencies vanished and he returns to normal behavior.
Washington March 4 A comprehensive congress report from Secretary Hitchcock based on Special Agent Armstrong findings covers Shoshone and Arapaho reservations in Wyoming. It endorses coal land leases for Indian benefit, urges increased irrigation, improved allotment oversight, better agency management, and promoting local oil and building stone resources.
Pittsburg dispatch reports a flood disaster in northern and eastern Wyoming Valley leaving 18 000 to 20 000 families homeless and causing at least 6 million dollars in losses. The wreckage follows the worst disaster since the Wyoming Valley massacre with ongoing damage in other areas as cold weather slows further floods in the Ohio valley.
A European shipping note says the steamer Ethruria, overdue to Liverpool, was reported 400 miles west of the Fayal Azores in tow by the William Cl after losing its propeller. Other items include jockeys facing 1902 absences and Dewet’s arm wound in Natal.
Denver March 4 The American Cattle Growers convention passed resolutions urging President Roosevelt to withhold further interior department actions toward removing fences in the public domain.
Telluride reports a four day blaze ended with clear skies as 150 workers search the mine tunnels for bodies. Rescuers cannot reach the buried chambers now and fear further collapse may halt recovery until tomorrow. The event caused big mines in the district to close and left about a thousand men unemployed.

Yesterday afternoon attorney John T. Norton, under arrest for using the mails fraudulently, pawned his gal watch with Sam Bergman, a second hand dealer, for eight dollars. If Norton is Mabel Dundas, a woman who victimized many nationwide, he is not yet rich or prepared for hardship.

The state supreme court plans to reconvene tomorrow to decide the Crook county habeas corpus case. Other items note pro rata funding for printing state proceedings, a strike on State Examiner Hendersons adding machine, and quarantine proclamations tied to cattle with Spanish itch entering Converse county.
Wyoming governor issues a quarantine proclamation barring the driving shipping or allowing domesticated animals to drift through Wyoming from Nebraska or Colorado during 1902.
