A Featchee ber's account was written up yesterday morning and checks returned to Barber. Barber deposited $17,000 in checks drawn by J. B. Oxener of New York. About a portion of the aggregate was discounted, aggregate credit listed as 890,004.

London June 17. The Gladstone government suffered a serious setback as the liberal aristocracy divided over the land bill amendment proposed by Mr Herage. The division ended 204 to 225 with the government losing support of Irish members and hints of further turmoil. In St Petersburg a military court convicted nihilists with two deaths and six others sentenced to penal servitude or exile. The emperor commuted the two death sentences.
