Three men Bud Congdon Will Hunter near Cooper Lake roped a bear attempting to cross from Medicine Bow to Laramie hills. After ropes failed, sheep herder Jim Kirkpatrick joined with a gun. They chased the bear in a circle until tired and shot it. The hide is at Bell ranch.
