Rear Admiral William H. Whiting is placed on the retired list for age. He entered the navy from Wisconsin in 1860, became ensign in 1863, master in 1866, lieutenant commander in 1868, commander in 1882, and captain in 1897. Captain Willard H. Brownson of New York attains flag rank with Whiting’s retirement.
The Seventh Regiment National Guard members who met the Queen's Westminster volunteers in the International rifle match today reviewed the Queen's Westminster in Hyde Park. On Monday they will be banqueted by the English regiment.
