Buenos Ayres reports a revolution in Paraguay with the Congress placing control in the vice president. A senator was killed in the chamber of deputies as crowds flood the capital. Leaders arrive to cheers while troops patrol and rebels mobilize near the river camp.
Rome reports Prince Victor of Savoy has won royal consent to visit America and wed an American heiress. Diplomats offer various reasons for the trip but it is widely believed money motivates the match. He is the Italian throne heir and departs for America this week after a prior visit to the United States.
Chicago January 10. It was decided today to spend 50 million dollars on improvements in the Baltimore and Ohio railroad between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Fifty millions were spent last year. The grand total of 100 million dollars is the largest sum ever spent improving a railroad in two years.
In Kingston Ontario on January 11 a Vernon gathering of Free Methodists turned dangerous when a member claimed to fly and toppled a large oil lamp. The lamp caused a blaze and a stampede injured several attendees as panic spread through the crowd.
Cleveland January 10 reports say the Euclid Savings Bank suspended operations after deposits totaling over two million dollars caused a suspension. Authorities intervened to protect customers.
Daniel Farno a switchman was run over and killed this morning at the smelters by the work train. He is identified as a local worker in Pueblo. The accident occurred during routine operations and is under investigation by authorities.
Washington January 10 The house spent the morning considering the bill to make the copius or reau permanent and reported back the pension bill which is eleven million dollars less than last year.
Boston January 10 Lord Walter Hereaford alias Rydney Lascallen the noted swindler was captured here. His latest charge is stealing 1200 dollars from the Arington Hotel Hot Springs Arkansas.
Washington January 10 Admiral Wal ker, chairman of the canal commission, convened the body to consider an explicit Paris cable offer to sell all Panama Canal Company assets for 940 million dollars.
Washington on January 10 The senate committee declined to report favorably on the confirmation of Otero and Daniels for New Mexico and Arizona appointments. The item mentions a telephone reference to Geyser laundry.
President Hill of the Great Northern spoke to a large Fargo crowd defending the community of interest in railroads. He highlighted how northwest railroad combinations reduced rate wars, cut expenses, and improved service, citing the Pennsylvani a and Baltimore and Ohio merger as a model of lower rates and public benefit.

Parsons is president General Whittier treasurer and W K Brice secretary. Funds subscribed and deposited with J J Morgan & Co. A general manager will be sent to China to prepare for construction which will start soon. The line will run from Hankow or Wuchang on the Yangtze south to Canton linking with the Belgian syndicate line and has the projectors’ backing.
The Berlin Reichstag rebuke to Chamberlain over his Edinburgh speech worsens Anglo German friction. The St James Gazette denounces Von Buelow as swaggering and Pharisaic and warns the incident threatens mutual good relations between Britain and Germany.
Admiral Rogers in Manila said Walter and crew endured a harsh traverse across the Luzon Strait to Samar. They returned alive and said they killed thirteen insurgents and captured the captain, lieutenant, and foreman tied to the murder of American soldiers.
London January 10 a press dispatch reports the release of Miss Stone from brigands is imminent with negotiations ongoing and a favorable agreement expected before night.
Lord Provost Hope is in critical condition after a hunting trip fall. He broke his leg and complications have left him in a dangerous state.
New York Jan 10. Grief over sister in law death and reading of a tunnel accident unsettled Christopher Miller aged 90. He hanged himself in his son's bathroom this morning.
German festivities planned for late January expect eight thousand guests to parade past Admiral Schley. Officials say he will be received at the auditorium and a magnificent reception will follow the event.
John Dytacoll, an evangelist of the Methodist church, was brought home early after a violent incident. He had led revival services for three weeks west of town, but friends fear the strain has unsettled his mind. He claims visions of doves settling on people’s heads accompanying his delusions.
New York reports the AnniAl meeting at Tammany Hall with Richard Croker expected to be re elected as chairman of the principal committee. Rev Albert Liuchlaus cites trusts as the cause of fewer marriages, blaming wage gaps that push men from marriage and push young women toward typing and professional work.
In Chicago on January 10 a clerk James Bannon, 13 years with the Wabash freight offices, is jailed for larceny. His wife Annie clung to belief in his innocence until confession and a family tragedy followed a guilty verdict. Annie died soon after, her grief blamed on the scandal. Hugo Sinaki, his brother in law, also jailed for a year. Special Agent James B Nichols led the evidence.
Dr. M A Newell visited Sheridan J H Millson of Evanston. J N Colman of Cheyenne stayed at the Kaster in Laramie. Father George Bryant returned from Laramie. J B Niswander and W A Stratton were in Laramie on business. Granberg the roadmaker from Rawlins was in Cheyenne on business. Trueblood the wirewack inspector is in Omaha with his sick wife. E C Longbaugh of Sheridan is in the city for professional business. Charles Riner made a business trip to Laramie returning this afternoon. Charles Ohnhaus joined the Me Kinley Memorial fund contributors. Ice crop fears grow with cold weather. William Miller sheriff Weston County and Sheriff Nelson with County Commissioner Hooper Sheridan were in the city. N K Boswell, warden of the state penitentiary, discussed smallpox with officials. Superintendent Park went to Denver on the late train yesterday. Osbourne and Galigher, the otock plant promoters, will be in the city tomorrow. General Manager Shipman of the Pacific Hahn's Peak and Practical, Laramie, Hahn's Peak and Pacific railroad, passed through en route to Detroit to visit his mother.
Casper dispatch reports a posse pursuing Charles Woodarl to a deep gulch sixty five miles west of Casper. The escape routes are guarded and soft bullets fail to force his surrender, while steel nosed bullets are expected to compel him.
General Chairman John Cahill of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen departs for Omaha via Denver to present grievances prepared in December on railway operations. Early morning report notes Roy Hurd among five Sher Jan county convicts placed in Rawlins penitentiary. He showed small pox symptoms and was sent to the post house under guard. The other four inmates were isolated and fears of spread deemed unlikely due to precautions.

D L McNamara treasurer of Sweetwater county died at his Green River home after about two weeks illness. Funeral will be held in Green River. He was a popular and well known county figure. State Examiner Henderson is in Green River overseeing the treasurer’s office until a successor is chosen.
