In Leadville Colorado Jesse Bloomfield a well known miner was crushed to death yesterday afternoon by a rock in the Adame mine. It took two hours to recover the body from under the cavern.
Piercing of the Simplon tunnel between Switzerland and Italy reached completion at 7 20 this morning after starting in 1895. The joint project faced hot springs and extreme heat but now allows removal of north gallery water and rapid railway preparations with a hoped March 20 inauguration. The incident allegedly stems from Revolutionary elements opposing a scandalous accord with the United States. Philadelphia notes Abe Attell will box Eddie Hanlon in a six round 140 pound bout at the Industrial Athletic Club in the city tonight. The two have previously met in a 20 round fight in San Francisco.
