Washington notes drift toward final week of the session with passage of the statehood bill possible as a rider to the postal appropriation measure. Debate centers on keeping the bill intact versus concessions likely in conference as two treaties remain under review.
London, Feb 23. King Edward holds the first levee of the season at Buck Solem gilt. Among the attendees are Missouri John Barrett the World's Fair commissioner to Asia and Assistant Secretary Wadsworth of the American embassy.
The Volunteer Aid will meet at 2 40 at Mrs. Robert La Fontaine Sr.s residence to plan the monument for Wyoming Doya who died in the Spanish American War. Ladies urged to attend and show interest. Cheyenne Steam Laundry advertises first class work.
J N Stinson and son Littleton aged 16 died from carbon monoxide poisoning after a charcoal furnace ember fired a room without a stove. Mrs Stinson survived in serious condition. The family, once Ardmore citizens, had just moved to Shawnee. Interment will be in Ardmore.
Indianapolis hosts the national bowling congress at Toml ington hall with ten new lanes ready for the national championship. The dedication ceremony and third national tournament start tonight with Mayor Bookwalter honoring the event by rolling the first ball on alley one followed by Mayor Grainger on alley two and Mayor Rose of Milwaukee on alley three. Ten teams of five compete tonight.
The Canadian Pacific Railway has acquired the Bilder Dempster Beaver line, including fourteen passenger and freight vessels. The transfer reportedly totals 7.5 million dollars.

A Denver high school fire this morning caused panic among teachers and pupils with a few injuries and several narrow escapes. The blaze proved trifling in extent. In Paterson the tenth typhoid death in the Cornell vicinity was reported after a student died overnight.
Chicago February 23 Dr Jacques Loeb announces calcium salts can cure muscular and nervous diseases including St Vitus dance sleeplessness and paralysis. He says at Chicago University nervous disorders stem from calcium deficiency and are cured by supplementation.
Governor Bhrow der arrived with a curies of earthquakes that rattled Guam, though property suffered only moderate damage. In Guthrie Oklahoma a fire in a Hilldale residence killed three children and left others injured, with the mother rescuing two more before they died.

Norfolk Va Feb 23 one feature of Washington's birthday celebration is the flying of profuse flags by British German and Italian steamers in the harbor. All U S colliers and warships are decorated. The Huu jah raised the flags of honor even before the Americans did.

In Stroudsburg Pennsylvania on February 23 a large amount of poison was found on Mrs Carr who is not related to Charles Grather. The poison was intended for Grather who faces a Tuesday hanging. She was searched at a visit to the jail to bid farewell to her brother.

The battleship Oregon reported to the navy department that she endured a severe typhoon off the Japanese coast. The ship nearly foundered, rolling to thirty five degrees at one point, but survived the shock and finally reached port.
Early today in Globeville Harley Curtis was shot dead in Lowie Bente’s saloon after a dispute over a bar bill led to a fatal row. Police discussed the motive as a bar dispute turning deadly.
William Rack shot and killed Maggie McGionis a colored servant in St Louis on Feb 23 over an open window. He attempted suicide afterward and is jailed awaiting further action in the case.

Merchants support proceeding to the governor for signature. Connellsville February 23 Mary Robland 11 burned to death in a coke oven after a fall near the ovens. Workers retrieved the body but it was severely burned.
Today at high noon John B. Bevington of Heath Nebraska and Miles Katie Campbell of this city united in marriage at St. Marys Cathedral by Father Walsh. Only a few friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony. The bride is a well known Cheyenne girl and the groom a popular young brakeman.

A. Jacobson arrested for arson after fire at the Vane store on January 26. Owner Ed Vane says he was assaulted when he discovered the blaze and Jacobson, who occupied the store, is accused of starting the fire to obtain insurance on his stock.
Emil Reuter, a long time prospector near Sundance, has not been seen since December. Sheriff Probst checked his mountain cabin but found no trace. A son in Lead, South Dakota, says he knows nothing of his father. Reuter reportedly uncovered rich gold ore last summer. The prevailing theory is death or foul play in the mines, hindered by deep snow.
