In Los Angeles on February 19 two unmasked robbers halted a carload of 32 passengers on the Los Angeles and Pasadena electric line for ten minutes. They searched for wallets and took over $700 before escaping. Both suspects were under 25. two were arrested but not identified.
Solicitor General Ri has been chosen by Kent Roosevelt to succeed Judge Day on the circuit bench. Day will leave the post to join the Supreme Court.
A dog suspected of rabies attacked nine people in New York on February 1 causing widespread fear. The animal was killed and the injured were receiving treatment at the Pasteur Institute.
Washington reports Senator Cullom, chair of the foreign relations committee, will seek an executive session to consider the Panama canal treaty and plans continuous sessions until ratified. A Delaware and Lackawanna train struck a packed trolley at Clifton avenue in Newark, killing seven school children and injuring fifteen with several feared dead. The impact hurled the trolley car, left bodies in snow along the tracks, and investigators dispute whether crossing gates were up or down.
