In Washington on February 10, the Senate heard petitions from Catholic groups protesting chaplaincy discrimination and Indian agent appointments. Fort Sill command under Major Wilcox returned from a scout in Indian Territory after renegade Kiowas Comanches and Apaches were brought in. A total of 450 Indians were rounded up with 200 still out under Captain Nolan. The captives are reportedly peacefully inclined.
The laborers appointed a deputation to learn owners views but barred from any compromise. No vessel sailed from Liverpool for foreign ports today. The strike grows with several hundred sailors forming a union.

Hamburg cites Pommerania collision as mismanagement. The Berlin era treaty with Russia and Turkey affects war indemnity and eastern affairs.
